Spring

• Wildlife Art & Carving Exhibition, Environmental Education Center, Basking Ridge
  This event is held the second weekend of May.
• The Midland Run, Moorland Farm, Far Hills
  These popular 15K and 5K road races are held the third Sunday of May to benefit the Midland School, which provides special education for children from 11 counties in northern and central New Jersey.
• Kugler-Anderson Memorial Tour of Somerville, Somerville
  This annual Memorial Day classic draws an international field of male and female bicyclists. More than 40,000 spectators watch the competitors circle a 50-mile track through the borough’s main streets. The Tour is the oldest consecutively run bicycle race in the United States.

Summer

• Somerset County Park Commission Music Concert Series, Duke Island Park, Bridgewater
  Free outdoor concerts throughout the summer on Sunday evenings.
• IBM/United States Equestrian Team Festival of Champions, USET Olympic Training Center, Gladstone
  The only event of its kind in the nation, the Festival is held each June to simultaneously showcase four equestrian disciplines-dressage, show jumping, endurance and combined driving. Highlights include show jumping and four-in-hand driving selection trials for the World Equestrian Games and the Credit Suisse Challenge of Champions, where riders and drivers swap disciplines with occasionally humorous results. Other activities include a country fair and a combination ball and wine auction to benefit the United States Equestrian Team and Somerset Medical Center.
• New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, Solberg Airport, Readington (Hunterdon County)
  This three-day family oriented celebration of the magic of ballooning features more than 100 balloons. Activities include an arts and crafts show, a family entertainment center, an antique car show, an air show, a petting zoo, in-line skating, and trampolines. More than 107,000 attend this event held annually the last weekend of July
• 4-H Fair, North Branch Park, Bridgewater
  This popular annual event packs into three August days everything from well-groomed sheep to open-air musical performances.
• The Magic of Alexandria Balloon Festival, Alexandria Field, Pittstown (Hunterdon County)
  This annual family event attracts more than 50,000 people during the first full weekend of August. The festival features hot air balloon launches, special shape balloons, an air show, crafters, entertainment, and many types of outdoor adventure activities.

Fall

• Far Hills Race Meeting, Moorland Farm, Far Hills
  This annual, day-long steeplechase event benefits Somerset Medical Center. Each year in October, nearly 30,000 people gather to enjoy horse racing and extravagant tailgate parties.

Winter

• Festival of Trees, Environmental Education Center, Basking Ridge
  This early-December event features a display of Christmas trees decorated in wonderfully imaginative ways.

Non-Seasonal

• Raritan Valley Community College Theater, North Branch
  A constantly changing array of entertainment includes performances by the New Jersey Ballet, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, pop artists, children’s theater touring productions and Broadway Shows.
